Senior Accountant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage and oversee financial reporting, cash flow management, and accounting processes for a diverse portfolio of U.S. properties. The role involves working closely with property managers, coordinating audits and tax filings, and preparing consolidated financial statements. The ideal candidate will have experience in real estate accounting and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review monthly accounting packages and annual budgets from U.S. property portfolio managers.
- Coordinate services and financial reporting with U.S. property portfolio managers.
- Assist in developing standard property reporting packages and mapping trial balances.
- Import monthly transactions into the accounting system (YARDI).
- Review and manage monthly property cash flows and capital call requests.
- Compare cash flow requirements with the current budget and report variances.
- Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements for U.S. real estate investments.
- Provide support for interim and year-end audits, liaising with auditors and property managers.
- Coordinate year-end tax filings and ensure compliance with all required tax documents.
- Oversee financial reporting and accounting processes for U.S. entities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist with property appraisals and other ad hoc tasks requested by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in real estate accounting, financial reporting, and cash management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (YARDI experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of financial statements, audits, and tax filings.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
