ServiceNow Platform Engineer
Primary Responsibilities:
- Platform Management: Align the ServiceNow platform with business and IT strategies, ensuring effective use of architectural controls and technical solutions.
- Technical Leadership: Provide consultative guidance to platform teams, management, and senior leadership, maintaining an updated architectural overview.
- Incident Resolution: Respond to escalations, including defects and service-impacting issues, while ensuring adherence to platform governance and best practices.
- Process Development: Participate in process workshops, requirements gathering, and release management practices, contributing to the design and development of ITSM features (Incident, Change, Problem, Service Catalog, Service Portal, Service Mapping, and CMDB).
- ServiceNow Development: Administer and enhance platform features, including Business Rules, UI Actions, UI Policies, scripting, integrations, and Service Catalog Items using Flow Designer.
- Upgrade Management: Plan, test, and execute platform upgrades while maintaining testing protocols to certify integrations and business processes post-upgrade.
- Integration Development: Design and manage integration endpoints with various authentication methods (OAuth, Basic, HMAC) and develop web service technologies (RESTful, JSON, HTTP, SSL, XML).
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with enterprise architecture teams, product owners, and development teams to ensure alignment on priorities and technical execution.
- Knowledge Sharing: Mentor team members, draft technical documentation, and manage vendor development work.
- Adaptability: Manage multiple workstreams concurrently, maintain a high level of attention to detail, and demonstrate readiness to adapt to changing priorities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Strong background in ServiceNow administration, including Business Rules, Client and Server Scripting, MID Servers, Service Mapping, and SLAs.
- Proficiency in designing platform governance, integration endpoints, and Service Catalog taxonomy.
- Experience with Integration Hub, Flow Designer, and ServiceNow Mobile Development.
- Knowledge of testing protocols, platform upgrades, and automation best practices.
- Familiarity with inbound/outbound web service technologies (REST, JSON, HTTP, SSL, XML).
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with a customer-centric mindset.
