Sales Manager
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales and distribution plans within the assigned territory to drive case and revenue growth, category share, and product velocity.
  • Work closely with the VP of the Western Region to enhance knowledge of local market conditions at the distributor and trade levels.
  • Build and maintain relationships within all trade channels of the territory, identifying roadblocks and opportunities, and effectively communicating these insights.
  • Consistently drive sales in key high-profile accounts within the territory.
  • Identify, contact, and sell to targeted On- and Off-Premise accounts independently and alongside distributor personnel.
  • Utilize VIP analysis and market relationships to manage pricing and portfolio integrity.
  • Track, record, and follow up on sales interactions to ensure account closures.
  • Build trust and loyalty with distributors, accounts, and colleagues through consistent engagement.
  • Conduct consumer and trade tastings, as well as promotional events as needed.
  • Lead weekly or monthly distributor sales meetings, training sessions, and product presentations to motivate and educate distributor personnel.
  • Regularly review company updates and calendars to stay informed about events and activations.
  • Allocate time effectively: 80% in the field selling, 10% on territory analysis, 5% on key account preparation, and 5% on administrative tasks.
  • Execute monthly sales goals as directed by the VP of Sales for the Western Region.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of sales experience in the spirits industry with a distributor or supplier.
  • In-depth knowledge of the spirits industry, including products and production.
  • Ability to deliver articulate and impactful group presentations and meetings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities to contribute to long-term business plans.
  • Proven leadership skills, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends, and travel as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, bending, pulling, and pushing.
  • Valid driver’s license and residency within the prescribed territory, with proximity to major selling markets.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of management or related experience.
