Key Responsibilities:
As a General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records. Your primary duties will include:
- Intercompany Clearing and Sales Entries: Manage intercompany transactions and accurately record sales entries.
- HUD/COS Process: Take primary responsibility for the HUD/COS process, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Review of Entries: Conduct the first review of financial entries for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company policies.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with DUP and title companies to ensure all closed homes are recorded monthly.
- Cost Management: Prepare lot cost summaries, cost-off entries, and incentive compensation calculations and accruals.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Develop various schedules for the Financial Statement Package and conduct fixed cost reviews and trend analysis.
- Reconciliation and Analysis: Prepare and analyze account reconciliations, maintain trust/escrow account deposits, and review model upgrade budgets.
- Sales Commissions and Tax Preparation: Handle statistical entries, sales commissions, accrued expenses, personal property, and sales tax preparation.
- Asset Management: Maintain fixed asset records and record monthly depreciation.
- Reporting and Analysis: Support sustainability reporting and tracking, assist with senior cost accountant duties, and perform advanced financial report analysis and reconciliation.
