As a Senior Desktop Applications Engineer, you will play a strategic and hands-on role in the design, deployment, and support of enterprise-level desktop environments. You’ll be responsible for managing virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), application packaging and deployment, and maintaining the stability and performance of desktop platforms. This role is essential to delivering a seamless end-user experience while ensuring security, compliance, and operational efficiency. You will also lead technical initiatives, support escalated incidents, and contribute to long-term planning and architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, deployment, and optimization of enterprise desktop environments and virtual desktop infrastructure (Citrix/VDI).
- Create, manage, and streamline application packaging for automated deployment using tools like SCCM and Intune.
- Maintain desktop images, configurations, updates, and patches to ensure consistent and secure end-user experiences.
- Serve as the escalation point for desktop-related incidents and support after-hours tasks or emergency responses as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure enhancements, cloud migration projects, and desktop strategy.
- Ensure operational stability and security of desktop systems, including BIOS/firmware management and system automation using PowerShell or similar tools.
- Provide guidance on best practices, lead upgrades, and promote efficiency in the PC environment.
Key Requirements:
- 7–10+ years of experience in a desktop engineering role in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Advanced expertise with Microsoft SCCM and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
- Proven experience managing Citrix virtual desktop environments and application deployment (DaaS/VDI).
- Deep knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365 applications, and imaging processes.
- Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, VBScript, or AutoIT.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune for Windows and mobile device management (iOS/Android).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead and prioritize multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certifications such as A+, Network+, MCP, MCSA, or MCSE.
- Experience in legal environments (law firm or legal department).
- Familiarity with Azure cloud migration and desktop modernization initiatives.
