Senior Network Security Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. You will define and implement security strategies, manage advanced network systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive impactful security initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Define strategies and technology roadmaps for network security architecture, and implement effective security solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Take ownership of security changes and improvements, enhancing network security methodologies and techniques.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME), providing guidance on the configuration and installation of new security technologies.
- Manage and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and enterprise-level network security infrastructure.
- Continuously monitor systems and logs for breaches, utilizing tools like SIEM and vulnerability management platforms.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to execute security initiatives and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and maintain regulatory compliance with applicable security standards.
- Oversee the management of domain controllers, DHCP, and other critical network functions.
- Contribute to system integrations, upgrades, and support special projects as needed.
- Document network configurations, processes, and procedures for clarity and ease of access.
- Provide training, mentorship, and leadership to junior team members to foster team development.
- Participate in a weekly on-call rotation, providing after-hours support when necessary.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of 10 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in network security.
- Proven hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, authentication systems, and other key security tools.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and technologies such as VPN, LAN, WAN, WLAN.
- Experience managing 20+ firewalls in an enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in Azure and AWS environments, with familiarity with SaaS solutions like Salesforce, Workday, and Office 365.
- Solid understanding of IAM platforms and protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth).
- Expertise in cloud-based security platforms and zero-trust network architecture (ZTNA).
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, able to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional self-motivation, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
