Job Description: Vice President of Finance
We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Finance to lead financial strategy, operations, and risk management. This role requires a strategic financial leader with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Role Summary
The Vice President of Finance will oversee financial planning, reporting, and internal controls while ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices. This role involves leading finance and revenue cycle teams, optimizing financial processes, and supporting organizational goals with data-driven insights. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in financial leadership, preferably within healthcare or nonprofit sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with long-term objectives.
- Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Financial Operations Management
- Oversee accounting functions, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Manage the revenue cycle, optimizing billing, collections, and payment processes.
- Ensure GAAP compliance, financial audits, and regulatory adherence.
Budgeting & Financial Reporting
- Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial performance analysis.
- Monitor variance analysis and cash flow projections.
- Prepare financial reports and ensure accurate financial documentation.
Grants & Funding Management
- Oversee financial management of grants, ensuring compliance and reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate with program leaders to maintain financial viability of funded initiatives.
Risk Management & Operational Efficiency
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including reserves, investments, and liabilities.
- Implement financial process improvements and technology solutions (e.g., ERP systems).
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage and financial safeguards.
Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor the finance and revenue cycle teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Drive a culture of financial excellence, transparency, and ethical decision-making.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA highly preferred).
- 10+ years of financial management experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial regulations, and nonprofit/healthcare financial management.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and ability to present financial data effectively.
